What I liked was chunks of time all together every real moment… I only wanted to find great people and let them be themselves and talk about what they usually talked about and I’d film them for a certain length of time and that would be the movie.

VINYL is the first film verison of Anthony Burgess’s famous novel A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. In March 1965, Warhol handed [Ronald] Tavel a copy of the novel with the remark that it might be easier to compose a scenario based on fiction than one spun out of pure fantasy. He had acquired the rights to the Burgess book for $3,000, he said; it ought to make a good move. And so it did.
