PARALLAX VIEW: THE POLITICAL ECONOMY OF IMAGES
[September 21-23 • Center for Mexican-American Cultural Arts • free admission]

A forum for cutting edge work with a critical and political contribution,
Parallax View is intended to celebrate and support cultural work that
challenges the exclusion of social questions from art and media.
With an unprecedented combination of film, performance, installation,
internet intervention, community workshops, tremendous writers and
micro radio gurus, Parallax View turns the traditional concept of media
participation on its ear with some of the highest quality work and thinking
available in the hemisphere. Emceed by Craig Baldwin, special guests
include Seth Tobocman, indigenous videomakers from Chiapas, and
Migrant Media Paris.
