The portrait of the everyday life of two young inhabitants of Mexico City unravels without any big suprises. As the days go on, their own testimonies about their lives give way to intimate reflections about their existence. One of the pleasures of the film is that it presents Mexico not as a Third World Country, or a magical place, but as a non-place, like everywhere else.
After having studied graphic design at the University Iberoamericana, Manuel Cañibe entered the CCC in 1994, where he studied directing. He is currently working as a designer and director of multimedia projects. Previous films include: Cielo y Edén (2002) and Pulques finos (2000). Five O'Clock Tea won the José Rovirosa Prize for Best Documentary, Mexico City, 2002.
